The Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority has been involved in projects to
control phosphorus loading to Cherry Creek Reservoir since helping to fund the
Shop Creek Water Quality Improvement Project in 1989. Since that time, the
number and variety of projects in the watershed has grown, the technical knowledge
base has expanded, and a number of new initiatives to manage phosphorus loading
are being pursued.
The following phosphorus control projects have been undertaken by the Authority:
- Shop Creek Water Quality Improvements (1989)
- Baldwin Pond (1991)
- Quincy Outfall Water Quality Improvements (1995)
- East Shade Shelters Shoreline Stabilization (1996)
- Cottonwood Creek Perimeter Road Improvements (1997)
- East Boat Ramp Shoreline Improvements (1998)
- Tower Loop Shoreline Stabilization (1999)
- Cottonwood Creek Peoria Street Water Quality Improvements (2002)
- Inverness Water Quality Improvements (projected 2003)
- Cottonwood Creek Reclamation Project
- Cherry Creek State Park Wetlands (projected 2004 and beyond)

The Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority recently developed a brochure that provides a summary of how it is
