To stabilize the eroding steep banks in this popular picnicking destination in the Park, the Basin Authority implemented bioengineering techniques to establish willows along the shoreline. The dense willows helped to hold soil within their root structures and discouraged foot traffic down the banks. Stairs were added to provide park user access to the water and rain gardens were created to capture and treat parking lot runoff.
